A brief introduction to Artist NFTs and how getting verified helps solve current NFT-related issues.

If you have ever navigated on an NFT marketplace such as Opensea, the chances that you came across famous collections are high as these collections are usually the ones making it to the front page. However, not all NFTs on these marketplaces come from an association of artists or brands. Some individual artists are trying to demark themselves by creating their own digital arts with some finding more success than others.

This article will represent a brief introduction to Artist NFTs, the current market issues, and, in a second part of the article, we will talk about how you, as an artist you, and your NFTs can get verified to solve the above-mentioned issues.

Artist NFTs

As NFTs attract more and more traders, the diversity in the content creators also increases. With some Enterprises or Brands minting their own NFTs, the competition is getting difficult. Individual artists creating NFTs are the most isolated. Let me explain. If tomorrow an artist decides to launch its own set of NFTs, the chances that your set or collection will make find success are low. But now imagine if Tesla were to sell NFTs, the chances that many people and traders will be aware are certain. Brand awareness and marketing are the keys to success in this market steadily raising the entry barriers for new players.

Additionally, NFTs issued by individual artists also face the same risks as major collections or sets but the risk degree is different. As major collections are often targeted in phishing attacks or counterfeits, it is easier to identify a fake NFT coming from a famous collection as people are more aware of who is the original creator. Moreover, due to the prices of some of these NFTs, traders are willing to do more research to make sure that it is the original NFT.

However, as an individual artist, since few traders are aware of who you are, it would be a lot easier to create fakes and copies of your NFTs without other traders being aware of it. This is where VIW steps in. As a part of our NFT verification process, an artist can apply for our artist NFT verification to certify himself as the original creator of his NFTs. Finally, the NFTs minted by the artist would also be identified as original ones.
